STAR Atlas:PRO Advanced Edition offers powerful Internet Features that provide you with access to the new Guide Star Catalogue 2 (GSC-2.2) and the massive A2.0 Stellar Catalogue (USNO-A2.0).

 

STAR Atlas:PRO transparently extracts and integrates catalogue data from these large astronomical object catalogues for any location in the Sky you care to click. The catalogue data then becomes part of STAR Atlas:PRO's database where it is used to draw ultra-Deep Sky Star Charts. Like STAR Atlas:PRO's other astronomical catalogues, you may also browse, list, and search the catalogue data.

The Guide Star Catalogue 2 contains more than 400-Million astronomical objects, permitting STAR Atlas:PRO to plot precision Star Charts of Stars and Non-Stars (Non-Stellar Objects) to magnitude 18.5. Access to the USNO-A2.0 catalogue provides access to some 526-Million Star positions and Star Charts down to magnitude 21.

STAR Atlas:PRO Advanced can also automatically download, display, and integrate Digitized Sky Survey (DSS) Images from the STScI Palomar Digitized Sky Survey. The area of each DSS Image you choose to save can be plotted on star charts like any other deep sky object. Click on it and the DSS Image re-appears.

 

STAR Atlas:PRO Advanced Edition includes The Guide Star Catalogue (GSC-ACT V1.3) that instantly adds an additional 18.6-Million objects to your Sky ! The Guide Star Catalogue provides you instant access to the revised GSC-ACT Version 1.3 of the The Guide Star Catalogue (GSC). Consisting of some 15.3-Million Stars and another 3.3-Million Non-Stars (Non-Stellar Objects). Providing you Star Charts of the complete Sky   magnitude 15.5, the GSC is a valuable addition.
