The "Silver Coin" Galaxy - NGC
253
10-Million light years away in the
constellation of Sculptor is this almost edge-on spiral galaxy nicknamed the
Silver Coin galaxy. In the night sky it appears as a relatively bright 7th Magnitude
just beyond naked eye brightness but easily spotted in
binoculars and finder-scopes.
