A face-on "star-burst" galaxy found in the constellation of Reticulum. This galaxy is an irregular type galaxy that exhibits erratic star formation, the cause of which is unknown. The galaxy has a magnitude of 9.4, so it's not real faint, about 4,000 times fainter than the faintest star you can see with the naked eye.
The second image shows an enlargment of the centre part of the galaxy. A un-sharp mask was applied to the image to highlight hidden detail in the galaxy's core.

A 120 second single frame exposure.
