Cluster NGC 3293
This relatively young 6-million year old
star cluster consists of 50 hot blue stars shrouded in blue reflection nebula
and set in the foreground of red emission nebula that stems from the Eta Carina
Nebula. Nestled 8,000 light years away, in the southern constellation of
Carina, this star cluster also exhibits some older redder stars including a red
super-giant star thought to be 20-million years old.
