NGC 2362.
This lovely star cluster is easily located in the constellation of Canis
Major. The brightest star, which dominates the centre of the star cluster, is
the Magnitude 4.4 star Tau Canis Major (30), calculated by the Hipparcos mission
to be about 3,200 light years distance.
