announces STAR Atlas:PRO Version 4.2.
STAR Atlas:PRO Version 4.2 is a minor
maintenance upgrade, that provides a number of improvements only to STAR Atlas:PRO's
implementation of the ASCOM Telescope Drivers. Consequently, if you are not using STAR
Atlas:PRO's ASCOM Telescope Driver Interface with a robotic or digitally controlled
telescope, then you do not need to download and install Version 4.2.
Following is a list of instructions that will assist you
in acquiring, installing, and using the STAR Atlas:PRO Version 4.2 Upgrade.

PRE-INSTALLATION
CHECK LIST
- To install Version 4.2 you must have one of the following
Versions of STAR Atlas:PRO already installed.

- STAR Atlas:PRO
Standard Edition - Version 4.0 or Version 4.1
- STAR Atlas:PRO
Advanced Edition - Version 4.0 or Version 4.1
If you have an earlier version installed then you will
need to install your upgrades in sequence as explained here http://www.skylab.com.au/upgrade.html#readme
before attempting to install the latest upgrade.
You require a copy of WinZip for Windows on your computer
to decompress the Upgrade File. If you do not have a copy of WinZip installed on your
computer, then proceed to http://www.winzip.com where
you can download a copy.
DOWNLOADING
& INSTALLING THE LATEST UPGRADE
1. Make sure you are not running
STAR Atlas:PRO.
2. Download the Version 4.2 Upgrade File
from
http://www.skylab.com.au/downloads/STAR_AtlasPRO_V4_2
(file size 2,682,029 bytes)
3. After downloading the file to a
temporary location on your computer, extract the file from the compressed WinZip file to
the folder where STAR Atlas:PRO is installed on your computer (by default this is the
folder C:\STARPRO). When extracting the file from the WinZip file, overwrite your existing
STAR_AtlasPRO.EXE with the new one from the Winzip file, when prompted.
4. Now start STAR Atlas:PRO normally. V4.2
will now be displayed in the STAR Atlas:PRO window title, and also in the About window (F3
Key). Note: If you are upgrading from Version 4.0 to Version 4.2 then you will need to now
exit STAR Atlas:PRO and re-start it again before Version 4.2 is automatically installed.
This completes your upgrade to STAR
Atlas:PRO Version 4.2.
