SKYLab Astronomy Software announces STAR Atlas:PRO Version 4.1 Upgrade.

STAR Atlas:PRO Version 4.1 Upgrade is now available to all registered users. This minor upgrade provides a number of corrections and improvments over the prior Version 4.0.

Following is a list of instructions that will assist you in acquiring, installing, and using the STAR Atlas:PRO Version 4.1 Upgrade.

PRE-INSTALLATION CHECK LIST

Before proceeding make sure that you have one of the following versions of STAR Atlas:PRO installed.

Versions compatible with this Upgrade.

STAR Atlas:PRO Standard Edition - Version 3.3 or Version 4.0

STAR Atlas:PRO Advanced Edition - Version 3.3 or Version 4.0

If you have an earlier version installed then you will need to install your upgrades in sequence as explained here http://www.skylab.com.au/upgrade.html#readme before attempting to install the latest upgrade.

You require a copy of WinZip for Windows on your computer to decompress the Upgrade File. If you do not have a copy of WinZip installed on your computer, then proceed to http://www.winzip.com where you can download a copy.

DOWNLOADING & INSTALLING THE STAR Atlas:PRO V4.1 UPGRADE

1. Make sure you are not running STAR Atlas:PRO.

 

2. Download the Version 4.1 Upgrade File from

 

http://www.skylab.com.au/downloads/STAR_AtlasPRO_V4_1 (file size 2,719,744 bytes)

 

3. After downloading the file to a temporary location on your computer, extract the two files from the compressed WinZip file to the folder where you have installed STAR Atlas:PRO (by default this is C:\STARPRO ). When extracting the files from the WinZip file, overwrite your existing STAR_AtlasPRO.EXE with the new one from the Winzip file, when prompted.

 

4. Now start STAR Atlas:PRO normally. V4.1 should now be displayed in the STAR Atlas:PRO window title, and also in the About window (F3 Key).

5. From STAR Atlas:PRO's desktop, proceed to the Catalog Pref (E key) on the main floating toolbar. Now click the Configure Auto button that appears on the Catalogue Selection Method & Labelling Options Window. Finially click the Restore to Default (R Key) that appears on the Catalogue Selection Matrix for AUTO MODE window, and answer Yes when prompted to Restore Default Settings. This procedure ensures you are using the improved AUTO MODE for object and catalogue selection when drawing Star Charts.

This completes your upgrade to STAR Atlas:PRO Version 4.1.
